U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta during his visit to Afghanistan said the U.S. move in the right direction and winning the war. It is reported by Agence France-Presse.
As stressed by Panetta, America will eventually be able to turn Afghanistan into a country that will be able to govern and ensure their own safety. The Minister of Defence announced that the U.S. will achieve that "Taliban" and "Al Qaeda" can not find refuge in Afghanistan.
Panetta made his statement on Wednesday, December 14, speaking before the American soldiers at a military base 56 kilometers from the Pakistan border in Paktika province. U.S. Secretary of Defense will also hold talks with the leaders of Afghanistan.
In October NATO spokesman said that the number of attacks, which are satisfied with the Taliban fell. However, in the same month, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has expressed its readiness to negotiate with the "Taliban".
