Turkey arrested the Syrian ship with weapons
Turkey arrested marching under the flag of the Syrian ship loaded with weapons on board. On this, as reported by BBC News, August 23, said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Endorgan did not specify where and when the ship was delayed, but said that all deliveries of weapons to Syria via Turkey will stop and confiscated in the future.
Reaction of the Syrian leadership to take this step of the Turkish authorities still do not know.
In recent months, relations between the regime of Bashar al-Assad and Turkish authorities, which was previously occupied by relatively neutral stance on the ongoing since March 2011 in the Syrian anti-government protests, have deteriorated sharply. In late August 2011, Turkey hosted a few dozen prominent Syrian opposition, which in closed talks in Istanbul announced the creation of the Syrian National Council in opposition to the government-Assad.
September 21 it was announced that Turkey will join the sanctions imposed against Syria, the West. At the same time Erdogan accused the official anti-Turkish propaganda in Damascus and accused the complete cessation of contacts with the Syrian leadership.
